There was a funky bug where some servers (including my own mullenweg.com) weren’t getting mail from WordPress.com. Detective Donncha was on the case and tracked it down and all that mail should start going through now.

Not quite… I never got my email for signing up and I keep getting this jewel when trying to retrieve my password:
The e-mail could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function…
Still some bugs!

I’ve got the same problem as Will… Created my blog fine earlier this morning, but never got the e-mail with the login info, and attempting to get my password sent to me gives me exactly the same message. Hope it’s nothing too tricky!

Excellent! The send-password option is working now and I’m logged in.

Yes just try a recover password and it should work fine.

Ok, well glad to see there is uh… *A* solution.
Just wish one of my fellow comrades would post it.
Been searching for several hours / or talking to crystaltech.com and still no solution.
They are pretty techie for a server company so there is no damn reason this mail a forgotten password should not work out of the box..
dunno..
thanks for posting unhh some *hope*.

The CrystalTech support method for allowing server-side scripts to send email is a bit difficult to use and implement (given their security restrictions and code modifications needed).
Here is a fast and simple way to get around this:
