Matt on Not-WordPress

Another Theme: Toni

November 28, 2005 · 11 Comments

By popular request I just added the Toni theme, which I had to adapt a bit because it was designed for WordPress 1.0. :)

This one has a few color options we’ll try to make available soonish. In fact all of the current themes will be getting some more color, photo, and sidebar customizations in time.

    New Schtuff

With WordPress 2.0 only around the corner, WordPress.com is seeing a bunch of new stuff going on. Though, honestly most of that “new stuff” is way over my head. However there are some new themes to look upon and use here. According to Matt:…

Along with the color, photo, etc. options…could we also maybe get some formatting options in themes for, let’s say, links? (Speaking from the POV of the visually impaired, I tend to like my links to underline when hovered on, not just change color - since I’m colorblind. Just a for instance.)

I guess my friend Waffle had been bugging WordPress.com for some time, thus new themes have been sprouting like crazy lately. =P

Looking forward to loads of more features ahead for WordPress.com Manz! :-D

[...] I just posted about the feature-shy nature of the theme system provided to WordPress.com users.  Lo and behold, new themes appear, with promises of customization features on the way.  Now I have a theme with a sidebar that works — it even knows about sub-categories like “Programming,” which seems to be an issue with some of the others — AND nice colors. How about a theme that makes use of a
    ‘random image generator’
    (for the top image)
    like:
    http://blog.hypercubed.com/index.php/about/
(when you refresh any page, it refreshes the header with a different image)
You could have a repository of approved images or even allow the wordpress.com user to choose 20 images or so for his/her own personal wp com site… that way, one would never be bored by their otherwise boring theme…

I actually like the Toni theme better than all the others! It’s clean and compact. The header graphic is soft and suits the topic of my blog.

Just discovered that you can change the colours, WOW! Will this e happening to any of the other themes? It would be really lovely if Bliux got some options like this, maybe to make it black and white and other schemes like that! Great work! Keep it up!
